Ellerton National Botanical Gardens

Robert Ellerton from Scotland purchased 80 acres of Southern Kauai farm land very near the ocean in 1939 for $50,000. He has transformed the land to soothe the soul. In some areas, common house plants (for us) multiply at a fast rate and grow very large.

This is not the season for plumeria to grow, but we found one lone blossom on a tree.

In the last two pictures is a pond with noni, used for medicinal purposes, growing just above the water. There is a picture showing the fruit enlarged. To use the ripe noni fruit, you can crush it and apply it on an injured spot or you can ingest it. Our guide Juan used it on a nasty hash near his knee and it healed quickly.
